OUR FOOTPRINT
From day one we knew that Santa Bárbara was going to be more than just a jewelry brand.
All decisions made from production to accessories have an environmental and social impact.
Our first concern was to reduce our carbon footprint and this meant centralizing production within a maximum radius of 100km. We achieved our first objective and also limited the manufacturing of the jewelry to 10km between all our suppliers and artisans.
Additionally, our manufacturing process is 100% artisanal, meaning each piece is unique, handcrafted by specialized artisans using traditional jewelry methods.
In the manufacturing process, all waste and leftover materials we use are remelted, this produces 0% waste and pollution, allowing its second life.
With this triple impact we manage to have an entirely local product, reducing CO2 with fair wages, generating 0% pollution through the reuse of surpluses in the workshop.
Our LOCAL and ECO packaging is a biodegradable tin metal box with ISO 9001:2015 certificates. This means that we have excellent packaging production, since this standard confirms that the number of production errors is minimized since it corroborates that we have better defined work procedures.
We also have the Sedex SMETA 4 Pillars certificate which confirms that we consider and obey the principles of ethical and socially sustainable production. Which means that we support Freedom of Association, Safety and Hygiene, we condemn child labor, among other issues related to work ethic responsibility.
The best thing about our packaging is that it surely won't end up in the trash. Do you remember your grandmother's cookie box that was a sewing box? Well, your Santa Bárbara box is made so that you can give it a second life.
