Meaning
Sekhmet is a warrior deity from ancient Egypt. She is considered one of the greatest mythological representations of feminine power. Daughter of Ra, the sun god, she was sent by him to punish humanity for ceasing to worship him, but her ferocity was so great that her father had to stop her.
She was said to be a goddess who brought epidemics and diseases, which actually originated from the stagnant waters before the flooding of the Delta. In turn, she helped heal people who suffered from them. She was considered “expert in magic”, and became the patron of doctors. She was also known as the Goddess of love and provoker of passions. She was the most beautiful among the Gods.
On the door of his temple there is the following inscription:
