Originally, sirens were depicted as beings with the body of a bird and the head of a woman. It was in the Odyssey that we find the first reference to the popular image of the siren, half fish and half woman. Its origin is unclear, but they are associated with spirits from the world of the dead.

Seductive and treacherous. In medieval legends, Christians associated mermaids with carnal temptation and female sin. Seduction in women was frowned upon since ancient times and mermaids were demonized and represented as evil and bloodthirsty spirits of the sea who used seduction to devour sailors.

On the other hand, sirens represent the obstacles that life puts in your way, like temptations that appear on your path and you have to avoid them like Ulysses in the Odyssey who tied himself to the central mast and asked that no one untie him under any circumstances. That mast represents the central axis of life, balance and firmness.

With this piece we want to claim the freedom of women to seduce and be seductive, without being demonized or punished for it, and the right to, once again, fall into sin and succumb to temptation without fear.
