The Venus of Willendorf is one of the oldest representations of women, estimated to be between 20,000 and 30,000 years old. At first, it was catalogued as Venus, believing that it referred to the aesthetic canons of the time. Others claim that these representations served as amulets or as some form of association with divine entities that would ensure both female fertility and the fertility of the land and crops.

What inspired us to reproduce this piece is that, to this day, archaeologists and scholars continue to debate about the female body of this figure, some claiming that it was a representation of women of the time and others against calling it “Venus” since it does not represent certain aesthetic canons. Yes, as you read. If there is a debate about the physique of women 30,000 years ago, how are there people who continue to deny fatphobia in today's society?

This piece is a vindication of all bodies, but especially those that bother and still want to be treated as sick bodies. Your size does not define you and while many people believe that this is a trivial issue, people with non-normative bodies face situations of violence on a daily basis. This piece is the representation of a Venus, and you deserve to be included in this category just like all women.
