The Ouija board was invented in the late 19th century, at the height of the Spiritualism boom, a mass phenomenon that took place in the West. There are several versions regarding its creation and name; one claims that the game's inventors asked the spirits their name, and they were told "ouija," which came from ancient Egyptian and meant good luck.
The Ouija board hasn't been proven to work for its intended purpose, but its pendulum swings. Some point to the afterlife, others to the subconscious. It's said to be a way of connecting with ourselves and with what we dare not say or do. A kind of therapeutic tool.

Regardless of which school of thought you choose to follow, it's important to know that in the end, the answer always lies within us. You will always have control and power in your life; believe it and keep it.
